ACAT Recruitment Task Force
Volunteer Opportunities to Grow ACATThe Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation is seeking engaged, forward-thinking credential holders to help shape the future of the profession through a new volunteer-led Recruitment and Credential Awareness Task Force.
The accounting, bookkeeping, and tax professions are changing rapidly. Independent practitioners face increasing competition, rising technology demands, growing regulatory complexity, and shifting consumer expectations. In this environment, professional credentials matter more than ever. Credentials help practitioners demonstrate competence, professionalism, ethics, and commitment to excellence. But credentials only create value when the profession understands and recognizes them.
To strengthen awareness, increase recruitment of future credential holders, and expand the visibility of ACAT credentials throughout the profession, the Board is forming a focused volunteer task force composed of current credential holders who believe in the value of professional certification and want to help others succeed.
This task force will work collaboratively with the Board and staff to:
- Develop strategies to recruit new credential candidates
- Increase awareness of ACAT credentials among practitioners, employers, and students
- Identify outreach opportunities through local networks, online communities, and industry events
- Help communicate the practical career and business value of credentialing
- Provide insight into what today’s practitioners need from a credentialing organization
- Support grassroots promotion and ambassador-style engagement efforts
The Board is specifically seeking volunteers who:
- Believe strongly in the value of professional credentials
- Enjoy connecting with fellow practitioners
- Bring ideas, energy, and practical insight
- Represent a variety of practice sizes, backgrounds, and geographic areas
- Are willing to participate in periodic virtual meetings and collaborative projects
This is not intended to be a ceremonial committee. The goal is to create a working group that can help ACAT expand its reach and strengthen the long-term value of its certifications through practitioner-driven advocacy and recruitment.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to:
- Help shape the future direction of ACAT outreach efforts
- Expand their professional network
- Gain leadership and strategic planning experience
- Contribute to strengthening professionalism within the accounting and tax community
- Help create opportunities for the next generation of practitioners
Credential holders interested in participating are encouraged to submit a brief statement of interest outlining:
- Their professional background
- Why ACAT credentials matter to them
- Any outreach, marketing, networking, or leadership experience they would like to contribute
- Areas of interest or ideas they would like the task force to explore
The Board believes the strongest advocates for professional credentials are the practitioners who have experienced their value firsthand. This task force represents an opportunity for credential holders to directly influence the growth, visibility, and future relevance of the ACAT credential family and the professionals it serves.
